How to help us change the Political Landscape in Alberta
You have the power to make a difference. Why are we asking for subscriptions?
August 19, 2025
Dear Subscribers,
Thank you so much for reading and sharing our Friday Resistor, Sunday Newsletter, our special articles, and videos that we post each week.
As you know, ABR (ABResistance) has a mandate to launch “RECALLS” to force by-elections in at least 5 more constituencies. We have been quietly working behind the scenes to get our ducks in a row. The duck analogy is deliberate - they look calm sitting on the surface of the pond, but are paddling like crazy under the water. This has been a year of elections in Alberta. The by-elections for MLAs have prompted us to take a step back and establishing an organizing structure for those who wish to launch recalls. We are now ready.
We can’t do recalls by ourselves; we need you, people who live in constituencies, to take the lead. We have a 10-step process in place to help you get ready for a recall. We have the outline of what a recall will look like, and thanks to Thomas Lukazuk and the “Forever Canadian” campaign, every Albertan has an opportunity to see what this potentially will look like - from being a canvasser to signing a petition.
With all that being said, “Recalls” cost money. We need to fundraise in order to be able to assist with costs like holding town halls to meet you and share the process for recalls, printing materials, and renting billboards. Thanks to generous donations that people have etransfered to us, we have been able to cover some of the costs, but now it’s time to get serious. “Our objectives promote a united Canada, so if you are a citizen anywhere in our great country, we would also appreciate your support!” Unfortunately, at this time, we can only accept paid subscribers from within Canada. If you are outside Canada, you will still have access to our Newsletter and Resistor on a weekly basis. We thank all of you for your support!
We have booked a number of townhalls to come out and meet you. We want to do more. We want to help you launch recalls this fall. Elections Alberta has let us know that we can charge a subscription for our Substack. We are limited to a $50/year per subscriber. We hope you are finding the information we provide helpful. Our goal is to do recalls, share knowledge, and build community. We want you to know you are not alone. We are hoping you can join us.
The Resistor and Weekly Newsletter will still be sent out free. If you do decide to join us, we will be posting more videos, more articles, as well as a spreadsheet with all the newspaper links we have collected on the UCP since July 2024 (there are some collected from 2019 to 2024 as well). Some other things to look forward to:
Our upcoming fall Speaker Series will be interviewing Dr. Carla Peck re: Education, the Honourable Thomas Lukazuk regarding the positivity of the Forever Canadian campaign, and a panel of AISH recipients and how the Alberta Government claw backs and ADAP push is affecting them.
We will post our previous articles on education and health care.
Our summaries on MLAs and their actions will also be available to you.
We are planning future articles on various interests regarding: coal, oil and gas, water resources, and wasteful spending.
We will also post our previous newsletters for those who are interested in seeing the timelines of what has transpired in Alberta.
If you are upset about what is happening in Alberta politics. If you feel you are powerless. You are not. We are building a community of like-minded people working together to make “A Better Alberta for Everyone.” Subscribing to our Substack is an action you can take to help make that happen.

Hi Anthony, we agree that's why we are spending time out there promoting the petition. The main person I want to see recalled is Danielle Smith. I would like to see Alberta Resistance target her rather than individual MLA’S. Your lineup of speakers and topics is excellent— why not focus on those. As IM citizen above correctly notes, the UCP will likely replace the recalled candidate with another of their own so it seems to me the entire exercise is futile. But your movement isn’t futile! I am still 100% behind you and wish you all the best in upcoming initiatives.
