WE have heard there is some confusion about our purpose. We are here to help Albertans recall their MLAs if they are not acting in your best interests. Here is a slide show that outlines how recalls work. ABResistance.ca Recalls As part of our process, we started sharing information through our newsletters and research articles, as well as building community. Those are all ways to create the momentum to start the Recall Process in Constituencies.

Measles Tracker - We now have the highest number of Measles Cases in the world, and to think it was almost eradicated 50 years ago. https://www.alberta.ca/measles We are up to 1917 cases so far in Alberta. This is the highest per capita measles count in all of North America (possibly the world). Unfortunately, we have more measles cases. A baby born prematurely because their mom got measles is the first measles death in Alberta.

UCP Travels
Shane Getson is back, and Dale Nally, Minister of Red Tape Reduction, hits the road. He is on his way to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dallas, Texas, to look at online gambling in Las Vegas and bitcoin in Dallas. He is spending 10 days out of province - 4 of those on private business.
This is 59 trips to the US for the UCP - 270 days they have been out of Alberta.
Dani has been gone for 35 days. They sit for 13 out of 52 weeks in the legislature. 13 weeks x 4 days (because they have Fridays off) = 52 days they are working for you at the legislature! They are not governing for Albertans when you look at what they are cutting for citizens, and then have trips on our dime!
The legislature has been out since May 16, 2025. The last day of sitting was May 14, 2025, with a day to swear in new Ministers and to sign bills. It will be sitting again on October 27, 2025 - That’s 24 days/15 working days from October 3, 2025
The UCP Caucus is down 2 members and is now at 46. There are 38 NDP MLAs and 2 Independents.

This is one way you can help us spread the message as we prepare for recalls. We can’t do it without you. We Are The Resistance!
A call to action for Creative and Engaged AB Resistance Volunteers.
Our marketing strategy volunteer, Ashley, has created a detailed marketing volunteer information presentation for Alberta Resistance (ABR), a group of engaged Albertans aiming to drive positive change in the province. The presentation outlines the organization’s mission, which includes promoting decency in politics, fostering caring communities, and encouraging optimism. There’s an emphasis on the importance of nonpartisan communication and the strategic use of social media to counter misinformation and engage voters at various levels. AB Resistance plans to leverage the recall legislation to empower Albertans and create a more inclusive and transparent political environment. ABR needs volunteers, like you, to contribute content across different media formats and highlight the phased approach to building momentum for recall campaigns. The ultimate goal is to transform uninformed citizens into active participants in democracy, celebrating the efforts of committed volunteers who are building a better Alberta.
Reach out via message here or with AB Resistance to see the whole presentation and to get involved!

Recalls: We are moving closer to a Recall Nicolaides in Calgary Bow. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in standing up a Recall in your riding. Contact us at: abresistance2027@gmail.com. We are still planning to hold more town halls.
Which area that the Alberta government is working on concerns you the most?
Health Care ( hospitals- being able to transfer hospitals to other organizations to run, siloing health care, health care staff, vaccine accessibility, paying private facilities to do public surgeries, other.)
Education (building charter and providing funding to support building, funding charter and private schools while public schools are struggling, firing Support staff during COVID lockdowns and not hiring them all back, not funding complex classrooms, the funding formula, not negotiating with teachers, recognizing and supporting complex classroom funding with resources and staff.)
Oil and Gas (not capping abandoned wells, Mature Asset Strategy, Pipelines
Environment - Coal mining in the Rockies, Water conservation.
Build Community: Albertans need to work together to educate and build community. Finding your people is important. We are starting to host Zoom meetings and setting up to connect people in communities across Alberta.
Town halls will be starting up; watch for one in your area. The Separatists and the Far right, like TBA (Take Back Alberta), are well-organized and have lots of money. (The Breakdown on X is sharing an audio with Dennis Modry’s voice from the APP saying that the US will give the separatists a $500 million loan to separate from Canada - we are not going to become the 51st state right away https://x.com/TheBreakdownAB/status/1948532405431861349. We need to counter that with information and community. Be a part of the change. See our ABR Resistor Update

Knowledge:
Talk to your friends and share what you know. Watching the Socials, we see more outrage and anger about what is happening to Health Care, Education, Social Services, and the Environment in this province. These areas affect everyone! It’s time to speak up.
Keeping this one here: The Province has launched another - you guessed it - PANEL Alberta Next Panel. They have scheduled a series of town halls, and you can sign up for them 2 weeks before the event. There is also a survey attached that has you watch a video and then answer 2 - 4 questions. None of the answers allow for any negative feedback, but if you answer the questions, there is an opportunity for you to put in your opinions. (They are almost done with their tour) - There is one online available to sign up for.
(They only win if we give up!)
Wins this week -
We are working with other groups to show up at peaceful demonstrations around the province. For details, see our ABR Resistor Update. (We are also posting events on our calendar at our website abresistance.ca)
AB Resistance is a small group of volunteers that pays for expenses solely through donations. Hosting town halls, printing, paying for websites, and social media software all cost money. If you would like to donate to our cause, please etransfer to abrdonate@gmail.com. We are a third-party advertiser, which means we report to Alberta Elections. When you donate, please include your name, address, and postal code in the message. The question is “What province do we live in? = Alberta, even if you don’t live here. It makes it easier for our CFO to accept your money. Thanks to everyone who has already donated. You can now sign up for our Substack. We will be publishing extra articles that uncover what the government is doing. By joining, you help us to fund townhalls, print materials, and get the word out to the public.
ABResistance has a “Speaker Series” - check it out on our webpage SPEAKER SERIES - AB Resistance. We will be back to this soon, we are just setting up some times to meet with Community Change Makers. We are also posting the videos on Substack, and you can access them here on YouTube: @abresistance.ca (some nice ab work out videos may show up as well). On Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, @ 7 pm, Thomas Lukazuk, former MLA and Deputy Premier, on the Canadian Forever campaign. On Thursday, October 10, @ 7 pm, Dr. Carla Peck will speak on education. There will be time for questions after the interviews. To register, text 403-688-0812, ZOOM Mtg. 277 275 5886 (Please pre-register for Thomas Lukazuk; we expect a large group.)

Vaccinations: Anti-vaxxers are saying Japan stopped Mandatory vaccines, and it has low childhood mortality rates. Here is the answer. In the East, citizens look after each other. If they have a cold, they will wear a mask. They see protecting their fellow citizens as their responsibility, unlike the West - where it is about individual rights.
Another video is going around saying Japan removed mandatory vaccines, and since then, it has had one of the lowest childhood mortality rates in the world. Predictably, the sheep have seen it and are all now spreading this misinformation as some “gotcha.” The truth is actually quite simple. The mandate was removed as part of a broad shift away from government control in Japan and was replaced with a regional/individual approach. Money and incentives are provided, and because of the culture in Japan, they have one of the highest vaccination rates in the world. Higher than 95% often pushing 100%. Japan doesn’t have a low childhood mortality rate because of dropped mandates or low vaccinations. They have high, high, high vaccination rates, and low mortality. Truth Matters. But it’s interesting to see this video pop up, and suddenly all of these accounts suddenly quoting it.

The Alberta Prosperity Project Visits Washington. (This is what the plan is to take over Alberta, and Smith is heading in this direction in spite of her continued “I believe in Sovereign Alberta within a United Canada!”)
Alberta Prosperity Project Delegation Secures Renewed U.S. Backing for Sovereignty in High-Level Washington, D.C. Talks
Edmonton, Alberta – October 1, 2025 – The Alberta Prosperity Project (APP) today announced the successful completion of its second strategic visit to Washington, D.C., where the Alberta Prosperity Delegation met with senior Trump administration officials to advance Alberta’s path toward full independence. Building on the groundbreaking April discussions that drew explicit U.S. support for Alberta’s sovereignty, this follow-up engagement, held over the weekend in Washington, D.C., yielded even stronger commitments, underscoring the growing international recognition of Alberta’s right to self-determination amid ongoing federal overreach from Ottawa.
“The purpose of this trip was to follow up on our April 2025 meeting, specifically to update the US administration on where APP is at in the quest for Alberta sovereignty and to elaborate on the substantive mutual benefit to both US citizens and Alberta citizens consequent to Alberta becoming a sovereign country.
To be clear, Alberta joining the US is a non-starter for the US and for Alberta, which was mutually agreed upon for the second time. contrary to the misinformation coming from Mr. Lukaszuk and his supporters.
Follow-up meetings with the US Administration will take place once the petition process is underway, which will lead to an honest referendum on Alberta sovereignty.” Dennis L. Modry, BSc, MD, MSc, FRCS(C), FACS(C), FACCP(C), Post Doc Immunology Clinical Associate Professor, Cardiothoracic Surgery, University of Alberta, Founder and Director Heart & Lung Transplantation Program & Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (Retired), Chair and Co-Founder Alberta Prosperity Society and Project
The confidential meeting, requested by U.S. counterparts to maintain diplomatic discretion, focused on economic partnerships, energy security, and the strategic benefits of an independent Alberta Republic. Officials reiterated their “full support” for Alberta’s separation from Canada, echoing the historic April statement: “We recognize and support Alberta becoming a sovereign nation for the first time.” Discussions also explored enhanced U.S.-Alberta trade frameworks, critical mineral development, and transitional support mechanisms to ensure a seamless sovereignty process, measures that align directly with APP’s vision of low taxes, resource freedom, and global alliances that prioritize Albertans.
“These talks were a resounding affirmation that Alberta’s energy wealth and innovative spirit have powerful allies in Washington,” said Mitch Sylvestre CEO of Alberta Prosperity Project. “With the federal Liberals under Mark Carney doubling down on policies that choke our economy, killing pipelines, imposing carbon taxes, and siphoning billions in equalization payments, it’s clear Confederation is a one-way street to decline. The U.S. sees Alberta not as a province in peril, but as a prosperous partner ready to stand tall. We’re one step closer to freedom, and the momentum is unstoppable.”
This visit follows a surge in separatist sentiment since the April 2025 federal election, where the Liberals’ fourth consecutive victory propelled support for independence to 38-48% in recent polls. The APP’s citizen-initiated referendum petition, submitted in July, has gathered over 200,000 signatures toward the 300,000 threshold, despite legal challenges from anti-separation forces. Premier Danielle Smith’s recent legislation easing referendum barriers has further empowered this grassroots drive, opening the door for a potential 2026 vote on sovereignty.
APP’s platform remains unwavering: an Alberta Republic with zero federal transfers, unrestricted resource development, and direct bilateral ties to the U.S. for energy exports that could add trillions to North American prosperity. As one anonymous U.S. official noted during the talks, “Alberta’s independence isn’t just good for you, it’s essential for our energy dominance.”
The Alberta Prosperity Project invites all Albertans frustrated by Ottawa’s neglect to join the movement. Review our comprehensive policy platform here. Sign the referendum petition at albertaprosperity.com, share your story, and help build the sovereign future we deserve. (For information, there is no referendum petition that has been approved by Elections Alberta at this time. The matter is before the courts.)
