A special ask from Ali Morrison, host of the Speaker’s Series: If you are or have experienced difficulty in the Health Care system, she would like to document it -
It’s important that you know your loss matters. We want to document what is happening in our hospitals and the lives that are being impacted or lost because of the Collapse of Alberta Health. Did you know that Alberta Health is no longer tracking deaths because of wait times to see a doctor, lack of EMS, and emergency rooms are closed and not recorded. If you feel comfortable and would like to tell your story so we have a record of lives being impacted by the government’s restructuring of health care in Alberta.
Please email EMSsafeline@gmail.com
Ali has a way to share how the collapse of Health Care in Alberta is impacting the people who live here and she would like to include your story because you are not just a number, your life and the lives of your family matter to us. Help us put a face to the damage that is being done
Check Facebook, Instagram, and Recall Facebook pages. The Government is noticing - They are…
asking for volunteers in their constituencies,
accusing Recall petitioners of benefiting financially from Recalls,
posting defensive letters on Facebook,
having meetings about Classroom Complexity,
pledging $69 million for mental health in schools that was budgeted for nine months ago as if it’s a new promise,
asking school boards for numbers,
canceling contracts for CSFs that are connected to Sam Mraiche,
as well as talking about adding 1000 acute care beds in a Presser.
They added 7 more days to the fall sitting so they could push through Bill 9 that impacts Transgender persons - this is the issue their base cares about because it makes them uncomfortable - Cruelty is the purpose. Please stand with the LGBTQIA2S+ community. They have once again used the notwithstanding clause for Bill 9, which makes it 4 times in two months.
They just rewrote the Citizen Initiative Act - to file on it will now cost $25,000 and you cannot fundraise for that.
They also with Bill 14 gave immunity to the Justice Minister/Attorney General of Alberta for any decisions that he makes.
Nate Horner introduced a bill that protects AIMCo from being sued for any money losses for bad investment decisions.
Let’s not forget the 1000 new teachers they were suppose to hire in the contract for this year? They said they already included money in the budget for that, so yeah that’s not happening.
In the fall of 2025, Alberta’s legislature passed several bills, including those that invoked the notwithstanding clause to affect transgender rights, such as restricting gender-affirming healthcare for youth under 16, policing names and pronouns in schools, and banning transgender girls from participating in female sports. Additionally, other bills focused on education, healthcare, and public safety were also part of the legislative agenda. CityNews
Thank you all for stepping up and showing that the People have the Power!!! We are going to need to work together to stop this government from taking apart Alberta.

If you are in a protesting kind of mood and have a few friends who share your same viewpoint, there are a number of UCP events taking place over the next month or so that people could do pop-up protests at… a few signs and a desire to make some noise is all it takes. Details can be found here. (Remember safety first, have a plan, and have people with you)

Last week this will be posted, so if you haven’t checked out what is happening with oil and gas in Alberta either bookmark this or check it out.
Do you think Danielle Smith’s government is starting to listen to us? This came up a few weeks ago… re: MAS
Oil and Gas: Danielle Smith’s government is finally agreeing with Landowners who have abandoned wells on their land and says perhaps no more wells should be drilled unless there is a deposit to properly shut them down before being allowed to drill.
(We have a link to Razor Energy going broke and owing 9.3 million to municipalities for taxes. A major investor for $100 million? - You guessed it AIMCo - Pension money for hard working Albertans is being used to prop up oil companies)
Oil and Gas: Razor Energy declares bankruptcy. Who owns Razor Energy - AIMCo invested $100 million and is a major shareholder. Is your pension fund managed by AIMCo? Teachers take note. AIMCo is not arms length from the Government - the Government has a say where investments happen. They are using AIMCo as slush fund to invest in oil and gas projects. They passed a bill that protects AIMCo investments from law suits brought by retirement funds. Bill 12 received Royal Assent.

A few weeks ago, the Coalition for Responsible Energy (C4RE) released new public opinion polling from Janet Brown Opinion Research, showing that “a supermajority of Albertans want oil & gas companies held accountable for the costs of cleanup, unpaid municipal taxes, and unpaid compensation to landowners.”
Highlights include:
92% support oil and gas companies being responsible for the final clean-up of wells
87% support the government requiring the industry to cover unpaid property taxes to municipalities
84% support the government requiring the industry to cover unpaid rents to landowners
This new polling comes in the midst of rising public outrage over the provincial government’s Mature Asset Strategy (MAS), a plan that will weaken industry accountability for oilfield cleanup, water down reclamation standards, and push even more costs onto the Alberta taxpayer.

The Alberta Next Panel conversations are based on the Free Alberta Strategy authored by Barry Cooper, Derek From, and Rob Anderson (Danielle Smith’s Chief of Staff): https://www.freealbertastrategy.com/the_strategy
They also have a website:

They are organized and have money. We need to stand up and show that we oppose their plans. We made them blink on the expense account, book bans, complex classrooms in public schools (this week), and vaccines for healthcare workers. We have the power! Keep making noise!

How To Win! We are doing it!!!
Canada Geese are fierce defenders of their territory and their family/group. They work together when they are flying South, so everyone gets there. They are fiercely loyal and protect their families and community. Like the geese, some of us have to rest and regroup, but we keep honking encouragement to the ones in the front breaking the wind so we can take it easy. Then, when it’s our turn, we take the lead and do the hard stuff. Reposting stuff on social media, calling out lies with the facts that people are posting, standing up, and letting someone who is putting down the other political parties know it’s not ok. Standing up for teachers and education in Alberta. Supporting the AUPE Health Care workers who are going on strike. Being kind to healthcare workers, getting vaccinated, and reposting YYCCOWBOY’s and Frazzlehead’s substack on healthcare in Alberta each week. Supporting independent writers and podcasters is one of the ways we can keep the message going. Supporting a political party that shares your views. Sharing what you know with family and friends. Let’s make it go viral. It’s not over until we all give up, and We Aren’t Giving Up. Thanks for joining the Resistance.
Let’s all work together to make Alberta work for everyone!
