RECENT NEWS
Alberta Resistance believes that ALL Albertans have the right to be informed. If you have events to advertise, please reach out to us either on our Facebook page, our website, or at abresistance2027@gmail.com.

You keep showing up! You are doing it - The UCP is refusing to fund Elections Alberta to check the petition signatures. Call your MLA, and copy it to the opposition if they are UCP. We need to push back and track the emails, letters, and calls we are making.
Alberta! You are doing it! 14 Recalls now up and running: If you belong to these constituencies, your MLA has a recall - Calgary Bow, Calgary Fish Creek, Calgary North, Calgary North West, Airdrie East, Grande Prairie, Highwood, Morinville - St. Albert, Camrose, Lethbridge East, Red Deer South, and Spruce Grove - Stony Plain.
Many more are filed and have received first approval…
Check out their Facebook pages and signing locations. If you belong to any of the constituencies, you can check them out at OperationTotalRecall.ca.

Red Deer and Medicine Hat continue to show up week after week to protest. They are on Week 44! It is still Constituency Week this week!
Medicine Hat - Saturday
Address TransCanada Way/13th Ave. Time 10:30 - 11:30 am
Red Deer - Saturday
Address Adriana LaGrange’s Office on the corner of 202-5913 50 Ave, Red Deer,
Time 10:30 - 11:30
You can participate. Gather a few friends, make some signs, “Get out there to make some good trouble!” (Let us know, and we can post your weekly gatherings here.)
Come, join the team. You don’t have to be from Calgary Bow to door-knock and lit drop. We will partner you with a credentialed canvasser. This is our chance to get out and let residents know there is an alternative to an MLA who doesn’t listen and who has underfunded public education, both as the Minister of Advanced Education and Education/Child Care. We are going to door-knock and lit drop on Saturday, December 6th. Meet new people, become a part of the community demanding accountability in government. Let’s make this recall count! Email op.recallnicolaides@gmail.com

Upcoming Events
Things are starting to happen! Remember the 3.5% rule? Be part of the change. What can you do to “Make Some Good Trouble?” We are well on our way - now to engage the 96.5% or at least 75%

Sign the Public Funds for Public Education Petition! We have a way to make our voices heard; let’s all participate. They will be collecting petitions at rallies, sporting and concert events, and in your neighborhoods.
Stand with Alberta Educators.

TOWN HALLS - currently postponed. There is a lot happening right now. ****************************************
Check Facebook, Instagram, and Recall Facebook pages. The Government is noticing - They are…
asking for volunteers in their constituencies,
accusing Recall petitioners of benefiting financially from Recalls,
posting defensive letters on Facebook,
having meetings about Classroom Complexity,
pledging $69 million for mental health in schools that was budgeted for nine months ago as if it’s a new promise,
asking school boards for numbers,
canceling contracts for CSFs that are connected to Sam Mraiche,
as well as talking about adding 1000 acute care beds in a Presser.
Thank you all for stepping up and showing that the People have the Power!!!
*****************************************
If you are in a protesting kind of mood and have a few friends who share your same viewpoint, there are a number of UCP events taking place over the next month or so that people could do pop-up protests at… a few signs and a desire to make some noise is all it takes. Details can be found here. (Remember safety first, have a plan, and have people with you)

Canmore: A group of concerned Canmore citizens are standing up to the Smith Government to stop Smith and a local developer. The Smith government leased public land to a local developer to develop 18 acres of public land for a 100 room hotel and spa right in the middle of our Canmore neighborhood. The developer is currently preparing a proposal for the Town Council.

Do you think Danielle Smith’s government is starting to listen to us? This came up this week… re: MAS
Oil and Gas: Danielle Smith’s government is finally agreeing with Landowners who have abandoned wells on their land and says perhaps no more wells should be drilled unless there is a deposit to properly shut them down before being allowed to drill.
Last week, the Coalition for Responsible Energy (C4RE) released new public opinion polling from Janet Brown Opinion Research, showing that “a supermajority of Albertans want oil & gas companies held accountable for the costs of cleanup, unpaid municipal taxes, and unpaid compensation to landowners.”
Highlights include:
92% support oil and gas companies being responsible for the final clean-up of wells
87% support the government requiring the industry to cover unpaid property taxes to municipalities
84% support the government requiring the industry to cover unpaid rents to landowners
This new polling comes in the midst of rising public outrage over the provincial government’s Mature Asset Strategy (MAS), a plan that will weaken industry accountability for oilfield cleanup, water down reclamation standards, and push even more costs onto the Alberta taxpayer.

The Alberta Next Panel conversations are based on the Free Alberta Strategy authored by Barry Cooper, Derek From, and Rob Anderson (Danielle Smith’s Chief of Staff): https://www.freealbertastrategy.com/the_strategy
They also have a website:
https://www.freealbertastrategy.com/
They are organized and have money. We need to stand up and show that we oppose their plans. We made them blink on the expense account, book bans, complex classrooms in public schools (this week), and vaccines for healthcare workers. We have the power! Keep making noise!

How To Win!
Canada Geese are fierce defenders of their territory and their family/group. They work together when they are flying South, so everyone gets there. They are fiercely loyal and protect their families and community. Like the geese, some of us have to rest and regroup, but we keep honking encouragement to the ones in the front breaking the wind so we can take it easy. Then, when it’s our turn, we take the lead and do the hard stuff. Reposting stuff on social media, calling out lies with the facts that people are posting, standing up, and letting someone who is putting down the other political parties know it’s not ok. Standing up for teachers and education in Alberta. Supporting the AUPE Health Care workers who are going on strike. Being kind to healthcare workers, getting vaccinated, and reposting YYCCOWBOY’s and Frazzlehead’s substack on healthcare in Alberta each week. Supporting independent writers and podcasters is one of the ways we can keep the message going. Supporting a political party that shares your views. Sharing what you know with family and friends. Let’s make it go viral. It’s not over until we all give up, and We Aren’t Giving Up. Thanks for joining the Resistance.
Let’s all work together to make Alberta work for everyone!
